Little Lamb Hot Pot

On a cold Monday night my bf and I were wandering the streets of Northbridge to fulfil our bubble tea cravings. We couldn’t help but notice a new restaurant called Little Lamb Hot Pot and it was completely packed which is unusual for a Monday night. We took a peek inside and was told that it was fully booked. In the 30secs we wertr in there, the smell, look and concept hooked us in and we knew we’d have to come back.

It’s a Chinese Buffet with Hot Pot AND not just any grill BBQ, but a coal grill BBQ station! Hot Pot is also known as steamboat where you drop a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and fish balls. These ingredients are boiled in a flavoured stock of your choice. By the end of your eating session the broth should be very flavoursome from all the ingredients.

The first few salad options were cooked salads including spicy beef, noodle salad and some more adventurous salads like chicken feet and pickled veg and chilli.

Further down you have multiple noodle options and greens.

Following the buffet line around there was more asian condiments, sauces and other goodies which included Spam, fish cakes, lotus root, crabstick and so much more.

Fish Balls, Fish Balls and Fish Balls … Oh and some hot food in the background.

Mussels, prawns and so, so many varieties of fishballs. Stuffed ones, soft ones, crunchy ones, fried ones, thin ones, thick ones, half ones and then last but not least a crabstick inside a fishball! All were amazing.

In the background there is a warmer of ready to eat food.

Little Lamb Half Spicy Half Normal Hot Pot

Little Lamb Half Spicy Half Normal Pot

Half normal and half spicy. The normal part tasted like a herbal hearty broth. The spicy side, which was my favourite tasted like a real vesion of what 2 minute noodles try to taste like.

At only $39.00 not only do you get all of the above, you also have unlimited tea, soft drinks, asian drinks, Emu Bitter cans and Hahn Light bottles. As they are relatively new, the service wasn’t top notch and this place gets packed so make sure you book ahead.

Homemade Coal BBQ Pizza Episode

It’s only fitting that my first post should feature something delicious, fun and full of bacon bits. It’s Labour Day long weekend so there isn’t a better time to whip out the mini Weber BBQ and try something different. I decided to redeem my Barbecues Galore voucher and bought a pizza stone and spatula set for $39.

My First Ever Pizza Dough (See Recipes)

My First Ever Pizza Dough

The Pizza dough could have been better as I had misread the recipe and did not have enough semolina flour nor the resting time for the dough. It did not have those crispy bubble bursts throughout the crust as I would have liked to have achieve. Having said that, everyone enjoyed the flavours of the dough and the smokiness of the coal plus hickory wood which made up for the texture.

You can see the smokiness of the coal and hickory wood which was amazing. This was a Chicken and Bacon pizza with Mushroom Sauce and BBQ Sauce Swirl.

The sweetness of the pineapple and the tang of the BBQ went well with the mountain of meat.

I felt like being creative and made a dessert pizza in the shape of a love heart. By the time I took the photo the ice cream had melted and it makes the pizza look a bit sad. It was indeed a happy pizza as we were all very happy to eat it.
