Sydney Eating Episode Day 5

No trip to Sydney would be complete without paying a visit to the infamous Sydney Fish Market located in Pyrmont.

Entrance to Sydney Fish Market

There’s something very calming about this blue building. It’s probably because in my head interprets it as “Entry for delicious fresh seafood”

This was our seafood platter masterpiece. Scallops, kilpatrick oysters, oyster mornay, prawn skewer, octopus, squid, fish and chips with lemon wedges. It cost us $70approx. You will need four people to almost finish the platter.

With a side of Lobster Mornay

This turned out to be quite filling. This creamy cheese sauce is loaded with a potato mash.

Unfortunately my favourite vietnamese restaurant in Marrickville, Old Thanh Huong, was closed for my last night in Sydney. However I am happy to try new places.

Max Brenner Glebe

After a big day of eating I was so full that I almost passed on dessert, but since we’re not fortunate enough to have a Max Brenner in Perth… I just had to try it.

There’s usually a big line every night of the week so we were very lucky to have arrived just before the rush.

There are two huge pots the size of a bathtubs as you enter. Inside is rich and creamy chocolate brewing away…

The cutest cups with a straw hole. Don’t mind if I do.

Tutti-Fruitti Belgian Waffles (Two) $17.50

Max Brenner Tutti-Fruiti Belgian Waffles

I am now in love with Belgian waffles. Sweet, fluffy, crunchy. When you bite into them they almost had a flakey, cotton candy kind of texture but in waffle form. You know how some pastries smell better then they actually taste? This was the opposite.

The chocolate was superb. Flavoursome and not too rich. Sparingly drizzled all over the plate. A feast for the eyes and my belly.

Served with fresh bananas, strawberries and vanilla ice-cream.

Strawberry Float $8.20

Max Brenner's Strawberry Float

Big scoops of yummy vanilla ice-cream on top of the delicious blend of icy, fruity strawberry shake.
